Meet children's author Brian Lies with his BATSmobile!

Titcomb's Bookshop kicks off 40th Anniversary Celebrary with Children's Author Brian Lies

Come visit with children’s author and illustrator Brian Lies for a very special storytime and bat-related activities at Titcomb’s Bookshop on Sunday July 5th from 11:00 a.m. to noon.  Brian will bring his BATSmobile, a car fully decorated with a bats theme and topped with a giant bat.

Brian has written and illustrated two picture books for children that feature bats: Bats At The Beach and Bats At The Library. Bats At The Library won the 2009 Best New Picture Book of the Year by the American Booksellers Association.

The enchanting art and cheery verse will inspire imaginations again and again as his joyful bats and their nocturnal celebrations cast beach and library visits in an entirely new light.  Even the youngest of readers will want to join the batty book-fest!   This is event is free and open to the public.

This event marks the beginning of a four month celebration of Titcomb’s Bookshop’s 40th Anniversary. From July 1-October 28, Titcomb’s will host 40 book related events including talks with authors Richard Russo, Wally Lamb, Mary Oliver and Jeannette Walls. For more information about the 40 events, please go to their website www.titcombsbookshop.com. Titcomb’s Bookshop has been a family owned and operated bookstore on Route 6A in East Sandwich since 1969.

You know your children are growing up when they stop asking you where they came from and refuse to tell you where they're going.
