Local Cape Cod figure skaters head to "Mini Olympics" in Colorado
Bourne Skating Club skaters prepare for the State Games of America this month
Figure skaters from The Bourne Skating Club will compete this month at the State Games of America in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Bourne Skating Club members Ryan Donohue of Dennis, Morgan Johnson of Bourne, Julianna Mori of Plymouth and Nikki Perry of Raynham qualified to compete at the State Games of America by placing first, second or third in the annual Bay State Winter Games in Williamstown, MA.
These skaters will compete among a record high number of 1,138 figure skaters registered for this year’s State Games.
In addition to their individual events, Morgan, Julianna and Nikki will be competing with the Bourne to Skate Theater on Ice Senior team, consisting of 10 skaters from various skating clubs in southeastern Massachusetts. This year marks the first ever Theater on Ice competition at the State Games of America and Bourne to Skate is proud to be participating in this event.
The Bourne Skating Club is located in the Gallo Ice Arena and offers U.S. Figure Skating programs for all ages and abilities, including Basic Skills, Freestyle, Synchronized Skating and Theater on Ice.
