The Waldorf School of Cape Cod, located near the Bourne Rotary at 85 Cotuit Road, will hold its summer Open House on Sunday, August 9, from 1:00-3:00pm. Parents and children are welcome.
The Open House will feature oral and interactive presentations about Waldorf teaching methods, and the preschool and kindergarten faculty will tell a story for children using table puppets. Tours of the school will be available throughout the event and student work will be on display.
In addition to the upcoming Open House, the farmers' markets in Falmouth and Plymouth will feature free Waldorf storytelling events in August. Intended for ages 2-6, the stories will be presented by early childhood faculty in Falmouth at 3pm on August 6 and 20 and in Plymouth at 4pm on August 20 and 27.
Located in the historic Coady School building at 85 Cotuit Road in Bourne, the school is still accepting applications for grades one though eight and for kindergarten, preschool, and parent-child classes.
The school is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and draws students throughout Barnstable, Plymouth, and Bristol counties.
The first Waldorf School was founded in Germany in 1919, and Waldorf education is the fastest growing independent, non-sectarian school movement in the world with almost 1,000 schools in more than 50 countries.
Further information about the school and this event is available by calling the school at 508-759-7499 or by visiting the school's comprehensive website here.

Wit & Wisdom
It is amazing how quickly the kids learn to drive a car, yet are unable to understand the lawnmower, snow-blower, or vacuum cleaner.
