Falmouth Recreation Department Announces 9th Annual SBLI Falmouth Recreation Family Fun Run
Fun Run to take place on Saturday, August 8th, 2009

The Falmouth Recreation Department and The Savings Bank Life Insurance Company of Massachusetts (SBLI) are pleased to announce that the SBLI Falmouth Recreation Family Fun Run will take place on Saturday, August 8th at the track at the Gus Canty Recreation Center in Falmouth.

Registration begins at the track at 3:30 p.m. on race day, with the first race starting at 5:00 p.m. on Fuller Field (located in back of the Gus Canty Recreation Center). For more information, please contact Helen Kennedy, Director of the Falmouth Recreation Department, at 508.457.2567.
The SBLI Falmouth Recreation Family Fun Run will feature a series of short distance races for all age groups, beginning with a 100-yard dash for children five and under, a 200-meter race for six- and seven-year-olds, 400 meters for eight- and nine- year-olds, 800 meters for ten- and eleven-year-olds, and one mile for twelve to fourteen-year-olds.
All registered participants will receive an SBLI Falmouth Recreation Family Fun Run t-shirt, a medal, and a "fantasy finish line" photo, as well as a complimentary post-race cookout and entertainment by the Shriner’s clowns.
"We are excited to once again bring the SBLI Falmouth Recreation Family Fun Run to the youth of Falmouth," said Robert K. Sheridan, President and CEO of Savings Bank Life Insurance. "This event has grown tremendously over the past nine years, and it has been wonderful to see so many familiar faces return to the Cape to compete in this fun, relaxed environment."
The race, formerly the SBLI Junior Falmouth Road Race, marks the ninth year that SBLI has sponsored the children’s event, established with SBLI’s sponsorship of the Falmouth Road race from 2001-2005.
