Waldorf School of Cape Cod moves to Cotuit in February

Open house planned for March

The Waldorf School of Cape Cod is relocating to 140 Old Oyster Rd., Cotuit, MA. The first day of classes in the Cotuit location will begin on Monday, February 22, 2010.

Applications are currently being accepted for grades one through eight and for kindergarten, nursery, and parent-child programs. In addition to the integrated core curriculum, every grade student undertakes 8 years of French, handwork, singing, recorder, painting, drawing, modeling, and physical education; 5 years of woodwork and orchestra instruments; and 3 years of Latin. The faculty consists of a talented group of specially trained Waldorf teachers who are complemented by many specialty teachers.

The best way to get to know the school is to visit or attend one of the several upcoming events, including their Open House Sunday, March 7, 1:00-4:00pm. Faculty members will be available throughout this event to answer questions about Waldorf education and Admissions staff will be on hand to provide information about the enrollment process. Children are welcome and pre-registration is not required, but please feel free to call the school if you have any questions before the Open House or if you would like to receive an information packet in advance.

The Waldorf School of Cape Cod, founded in Woods Hole in 1984 by a small group of dedicated parents, is celebrating its 25th year. Although leaving the historic Coady School building in Bourne will be difficult; faculty, families and friends will take with them years of memories made in those treasured halls. Inspiration is found in the prospect of contributing to, exploring and serving another community. Friends of the school have rallied together and spent numerous hours preparing their new building for the students and community.
