Red Cross babysitter course to be held February 18, 2010 in Hyannis

Six hour course designed for 6th to 9th grader

The American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter, offers a class for Babysitters on February 18th, from 9 to 4 pm, to be held at the Chapter House, 286 South Street, Hyannis, MA.

The 6 hour course is designed for 6th to 9th grades, ages 11 to 15, interested in becoming a responsible Babysitter.  The participants will learn Babysitting responsibilities, characteristics of children, supervising and playing with children, basic care such as feeding and changing, accident prevention, emergency action and First Aid. 

All participants will receive a reference handbook and a first aid kit. Cost of the class is $50. Successful participants will receive a Babysitter's Course completion certificate that does not expire. Please bring a brown bag lunch or lunch is available in the area during the break

The Babysitter class will be held at the Chapter House on 286 South Street in Hyannis. For schools, clubs and organizations, alternate dates and locations are available by contacting the Chapter at (508) 775-1540.

Other classes available: Adult CPR/AED, Infant/Child CPR, First Aid, Community CPR, First Aid/CPR/AED for Schools and Community, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, and several other classes aimed at CPR/First Aid/AED Instruction. In addition the American Red Cross, Cape Cod and Islands Chapter offers free disaster training for its volunteers.
