Cape Cod Theatre Project seeks interns for 2010 season
Summer internships open to students 16-20
Cape Cod Theatre Project (CCTP) presents staged readings of new American plays each July in Falmouth. The playwrights, Professional actors (AEA), and directors come to the Cape for an intense period of rehearsal, with performances followed by audience feedback sessions. The focus is on providing the playwright a an opportunity to groom the text for full production using a talented group of professionals and performances with live audiences.
Through its internship program, The Cape Cod Theatre Project seeks to cultivate the next generation of theater professionals with hands-on experience producing live theater and interacting with seasoned actors, playwrights, directors, and technicians to gain experience in creative and technical production.
Internship activities include observing theater professionals at rehearsals; attending tutorials, workshops, and master classes given by theater professionals; learning to construct and run the technical elements of a production; acting as publicity and hospitality crew; and producing the annual intern play in the last week of the season.
CCTP is seeking mature teens with a commitment to learning theater-craft. Students must be available from July 1 to August 2, 2010. Interns are expected to be present for rehearsals, tutorials, and performances. Rehearsals are held during the week and performances take place Thursdays through Saturdays in the evenings.
All internships are unpaid, however, there is time available for interns to seek employment outside of CCTP hours. Interns must arrange for their own transportation and housing.
Students, parents or teachers who have questions about The Cape Cod Theatre Project, the internship program, or their application may contact CCTP at interns@capecodtheatreproject.org.
