Yarmouth-Dennis Sox announce the BaseballPalooza Student Art Contest
Winners will be announced at the YD Sox Nation Inaugural Gala on April 25th
Deadline is April 17th
The Yarmouth-Dennis Sox of the Cape Cod Baseball League today announced it is sponsoring a BaseballPalooza Student Art Contest. Part of its “Birth of YD Sox Nation” celebration, the competition is open to students in grades K-5, and winners will be chosen based on originality, creativity and use of the theme of baseball. Entries must be received by April 17.
Winning entries will be showcased at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod during the YD Sox Nation Inaugural Gala on Sunday, April 25, 2010 from 1:30-4:30pm. Three Grand Prize recipients will be announced and will receive their prizes at 3pm, and all winning artwork will be displayed on the YD Sox website (www.ydredsox.org). In addition, all winners’ names will be announced during a 2010 Yarmouth-Dennis Sox game at Red Wilson Field.
Baseball-inspired original artworks may be submitted in any medium (painting, drawing, collage, etc.). Entries must be no smaller than 8½" x 11" and no larger than 18" x 24". All entries become the property of the Yarmouth-Dennis club. Winners will be notified by April 20, 2010.
Entries can be mailed to YD Sox Art Contest, PO Box 814, South Yarmouth, MA 02664 or dropped off at YD Sox Art Contest, c/o John F. Martin Real Estate, 1023 Rt. 28, South Yarmouth, MA.
All artists and their families, as well as baseball fans of all ages, are invited to attend the YD Sox Nation Inaugural Gala and Art Contest showing. This will be held April 25, 2010 from 1:30-4:30pm at The Cultural Center of Cape Cod, 307 Old Main Street, South Yarmouth, MA. Highlights include a 2010 season sneak preview, opportunities to pose with four of the team’s championship trophies (1990, 2004, 2006, and 2007), a Sox game on the big screen, and plenty of free food, raffles, and prizes.
