May pronouced "PeaceBuilders" month in Bourne
Town selectmen and school committee to take the PeaceBuilders Pledge
The Selectmen and the School Committee in Bourne have proclaimed May PeaceBuilders Month and will be taking the PeaceBuilders Pledge at each meeting this month.
PeaceBuilders is a research-validated violence prevention and character education youth program. It
is a comprehensive community-based program that shifts the entire organizational climate to a peaceful, productive, and safe place for children, parents, and the community.
The Selectmen and School Committee are asking community organizations and local businesses to support PeaceBuilders Month by posting and saying the PeaceBuilders Pledge with their organization and/or co-workers on a daily basis or by sponsoring or funding PeaceBuilders workshops, children's events, and implementation tools and materials for our schools.
You can learn more about PeaceBuilders Month by visiting www.bourne.k12.ma.us. For more information, contact Dr. Joyce Harrington, Assistant Superintendent or Jane Norton, Health Dept. Head.
