Popular Labor Day Weekend event benefits Children's Hospital Boston

CapeCodToday.com is proud to sponsor this year's Dennis Chamber of Commerce Labor Day 5K Road Race on Sunday, September 5, 2010.

The race will begin at 10 a.m. at Johnny Kelley Park on Bob Crowell Road and follow Old Bass River Road to Carlton Hall in Dennis Village. Registration and number pickup will begin at 9 a.m. See a map of the race route here.

Proceeds from the race benefit Children's Hospital Boston and help Cape Cod families  who must travel to off Cape hospitals like Children's with travel expenses. Click here to donate directly to Children's.  A portion of the proceeds will also support the Dennis Chamber of Commerce's educational scholarship fund.

Runners are encouraged to take advantage of the discounted entrance fee of $20 by registering online/downloading a registration form.  The registration fee on the day of the race is $25.  A special rate of $15 is available for middle and high school track students who are welcomed to wear their school colors. All runners will receive an official number and a t-shirt.

Official times  will be announced and prizes will be awarded for the top male and female in each of the following categories:

• Adult
• Senior (55+)
• High School Track Students
• Junior (17 and under)
